Day 1: Dushanbe – Hissor – Dushanbe
This day you will meet the guide at the airport and escort you to the capital of Tajikistan Dushanbe. This day is dedicated to a city tour. You will explore today amazing attractions as Rudake Park, National library, White House, National state seal, and House of parliament. Then you will go to walk along National park where you will have a chance to take pictures of Ministry of Inner Affairs. You will also fascinate today the biggest National Flag in the world of 165 m high pole, 30 m wide, 60 m long. You are going to drive 35 km to explore Hissor fortress (VII–XVII centuries). The fortress is an open-air Museum. It was not completely preserved, only the monumental gates remained intact, but they also required serious restoration. It was a palace of representative of the Emir of Bukhara. The location of this citadel is on a high hill with walls of 1 m thick. You can explore the site and see a pool and a garden. Before there was a market square with a caravan serai and shops. There you will also have a chance to observe the recently restored monuments of “Madrasa I Kuhna” (new school of 16th-17th centuries), mosque; the mausoleum of “Mahdumi Azam” (16th century). After that you will drive to Dushanbe. You will rest the night in the hotel.
Day 2: Dushanbe – Norak – Kalai Khum
This day you will transfer to Kalai Khum village. Along the way you will explore the amazing site of Tajikistan Norak water reservoir that is known as Tajik Sea. You will travel along the high pass Shuraba (2 267 m). Further you will transfer along Afghanistan border. This day you will be inspired by the fascinating views of high mountains. Today you will see the Territory of Pamir Mountains. In ancient times these places were fascinated by such famous explorers as Marco Polo, Hsuan Tsang, Mirza Muhammad Haidar. You will have a great opportunity to explore these areas. After you will drive along the natural border as Pyanj River. Usually visitors call the Pamirs as the ocean of white and blue mountains. Then you will relax and spend the night in the home stay, you will observe the way of life of local people.
Day 3: Kalai Khum – Khoburubot – Dushanbe
This day you will start with the enchanting travelling to Dushanbe. This day you will transfer along the fabulous mountain road and high Khoburubot Pass (3 252) known as Western Pamir Tract. Along the way you will have a chance to see the fascinating scenery of the nature, river valley and gorges in the landscapes. You are going to take a lot of fabulous photos today. This day you will explore the small villages and visit locals. Today you will get the interesting information about nomads. As you understood Tajik are hard workers, hospitable and kind. They respect their customs and traditions, cultures and folklore. They value their elders and respect their ancient history. You can also see animals and unique flora along the way. This night will be in the hotel.
Day 4: Dushanbe – Iskanderkul Lake
You are going today to amazing lake of Tajikistan Iskanderkul Lake named after Alexander the great and located at the altitude of 2 255 m. a. s. l. The lake is situated in the heart of Fann Mountains and fascinates people due to its enchanting views. It is considered to be the most fascinating area of Central Asia. You will drive today over the amazing Anzob pass (3 372 m) where you will find the enchanting views and take photos. After arrival to the lake you will have a hiking along it beaches and reach the waterfall (40 minutes). You will like it! I would like to mention an interesting fact that Tajikistan is rich in water resources and is on the second place among the CIS countries, and on the 1st place among the countries of Central Asia. Tajikistan is rich with more than 1 000 rivers, 2 000 lakes and 8000 glaciers. You will spend the nght otday in the guesthouse.
Day 5: Iskanderkul – Penjakent
You are going to transfer today to Penjakent through the fabulous pass Shahriston (3 378 m). Penjakent is translated as "five villages". This amazing city is situated in Khujand area of Tajikistan in gorgeous Zeravshan river valley. Ot is important to note that in the 5th-8th centuries AD started the history the city. In ancient times the city called as "Central Asian Pompeii" because it was the remarkable cultural and crafts centers of Sogd. There were a ruler's palace, two temples, markets, amusing dwelling houses decorated with abundant paintings, wooden and clay statues of ancient gods. The ruins of this ancient city were found only in the last century. This day you will also have a chance to see remains of dwelling houses and office buildings, the citadel with the palace, the house of craftsmen, and fire worshipers’ church. This night will be spent in the hotel.
Day 6: Penjakent – Seven lakes
This day you transfer to Fannsky Gory (Fann Mountains). You will drive to the fascinating lakes over mesmerizing Anzob pass (3 372 m). There you will have a chance to admire the amazing panorama views and shoot the fabulous photos. You will also have a chance to hike. The Seven Lakes (Marquzor Lakes) have a territory about 60 km south of Panjakent. Along the way you will be inspired by the amazing nature and gorgeous road. We sure you will adore the incredible colors and shapes of the lake. The lakes also have the different names. The overnight is in the hotel.
Day 7: Seven lakes – Dushanbe
Fan Mountains are a unique part of Tajikistan that attracts residents with its unique views and landscapes. You will have an opportunity to hike in the Fannsky Gory (Fan Mountains) and admire the fabulous tour where you will see the color and exoticism. The Fann Mountains are visited by more than 1,000 travelers a year. You will also be able to meet the locals and learn about their life and culture. Then you will transfer back to your home stay. You will rest the night in the homestay.
