Day 1: Torugart – Tash Rabat
At noon, the local guide and driver will meet you at the Chinese-Kyrgyz border. Today you will explore the Tash Rabat Caravansarai. This unique stone castle was built in the 14th century. It is located at an altitude of 3200 meters above sea level in the middle of the majestic Tien Shan Mountains. Long time ago the travelers of the Great Silk Road stopped here for a rest. Tash Rabat building includes 31 rooms. The walls are 1 meter thick. Moreover, there are underground prison sells. At the end of the day, you will have a traditional dinner. You will spend the night in yurts near Tash Rabat.
Day 2: Tash Rabat – Kichi Naryn – Kochkor
Today you will travel to Kochkor village. The road goes through the wonderful Kichi-Naryn gorge and then it goes along the mountain pass situated at an altitude of 3000 meters above sea level. Upon arrival, you will a local family, who will introduce you to the production process of national felt carpets. Furthermore, they will help you to make your own carpet. You can also visit a small handicraft museum. Here you will find examples of silver decorations, coats made of wolfs, horse saddle decorations, carpets and others. The overnight stay will be in a home stay.
Day 3: Kochkor – Issyk Kul Lake
In the morning, we will start driving to the Issyk Kul Lake. It is the world’s second largest alpine lake, which is located at an altitude of 1608 meters above sea level. It is 180 km long and 60 km wide. It is also known as the “Pearl of Central Asia”. For more than 1500 years, the local people believed in sacredness of this lake. The water is salty and has useful properties. From the shore of the lake, you can see the beautiful mountains surrounding from all sides. In Soviet Times, the many politicians built resort houses in this picturesque place. In Cholpon Ata city, you will see the ancient stone inscriptions – petroglyphs. Local shamans created them more than two millennia ago. After an excursion, you will be transferred to the hotel.
Day 4: Issyk Kul Lake – Bishkek
Today we will head to the capital city Bishkek. On the way, you will see Burana Tower. It is a 11th century minaret, located on the Great Silk Road. Here there is also an open-air museum of stone warriors – Balbals. In ancient times they were created I memory of soldiers who protected their Motherland. After arrival to Bishkek you will have a sightseeing tour. You will visit interesting sites such as Pobeda Square (Victory Square), Duboviy Park (Oak Park), Central Ala-Too Square, Old Square, National Philharmonic, and others. In the evening, you will check into the hotel.
Day 5: Bishkek – Ala Archa – Bishkek
On the last active day of your tour, you will explore the amazing nature of Ala Archa gorge, which belongs to the Tien Shan Mountain System. The natural park is situated just in 45 km from the city, so it very popular place for local people to spend weekends. In Soviet Times only high-ranking people could rest here. Upon arrival, you will have a short hiking tour. On the top of the mountain, you will see the spectacular panorama view of the gorge. Then we will return to Bishkek. Here you will be able to walk around the Asian Bazaar and feel the unique local atmosphere! The overnight stay will be organized in the hotel.
Day 6: Airport
In the morning, the transfer will take you to the airport.
